Big Sur · California
AsterHouse
A boutique retreat of twenty-two rooms on the Big Sur coast, held between the redwoods and the open Pacific.
Arrival
A small house, kept deliberately quiet.
Aster House sits on the Big Sur coast of California, where the highway narrows and the land falls away to the water. Twenty-two rooms is the whole of it — enough to fill a dining room in the evening, small enough that the corridors stay still.
Days here are built from what is already outside: the light on the Pacific, the weather rolling in, the trails that leave from the property and return to it.

Rooms
Twenty-two rooms, every one of them looking out.

The house holds twenty-two guest rooms and nothing more. They are made from quiet materials and given over to the view: the Pacific Ocean, the ridgeline, and the changing weather of the Big Sur coast.
- Pacific Ocean views
- The reason the house is oriented the way it is. Rooms face the water and the light that moves across it.
- Twenty-two rooms
- A deliberately small house. Fewer guests, fewer doors, and a property that never feels crowded.
- Restaurant on site
- Dinner is a short walk from your door, not a drive along the coast road in the dark.
- Trails from the door
- Private walking trails begin on the property and return to it.
The Table
The restaurant is here, which changes the shape of the evening.
Big Sur asks something of anyone driving it after dark. Because the restaurant is on the property, dinner belongs to the stay: guests come down from their rooms, eat, and walk back up. Nothing about the evening requires the road.
The dining room is sized to the house — twenty-two rooms’ worth of guests, and the quiet that comes with that.
Tell us when you are arriving and we will hold your table alongside your room.
Wellness & Trails
Slow hours, on purpose.
Days here are built out of what is already on the property — treatment rooms, trails that start at the door, and the coast beyond them.
Wellness treatments
Treatments are available on site, arranged for you around the rhythm of your stay rather than a fixed schedule.
Private walking trails
The property’s own trails leave from the house and return to it, so a walk needs no planning and no car.
The coast itself
Ocean, ridgeline and weather. Most of what a day here is made of is already outside the window.
The Coast
A day here is mostly weather and light.
Morning
Fog over the water, coffee, the near trail.
Midday
Treatments, or the long way around the property.
Late afternoon
The light turns and the ocean changes colour.
Evening
Dinner downstairs. No road, no drive.
